Hello all,

I have a 05 Honda Inspire (rear view below). The brake lights @ the bottom (housed in red plastic) do not come on when i press the brake pedal. I checked the fuse under hood (its ok). I check physical bulbs (ok). I don't suspect its the switch above the brake pedal since the light at the top illuminates each time i press the pedal. Any ideas what may be wrong?

There have been several people that both bulbs were bad. They do not fail at the same time, but usually one fails and the other one is close behind. Check the ground wires in the trunk as well.

Apparently you missed post #3 where he said two bulbs were installed. Shall we assume they were new bulbs? Should we ask if they were LED bulbs or just wait for the rest of the story?

I read that to say that 7443 bulbs were installed, not that they were new. Considering that the Inspire is not a US model I assumed a language problem. So many people have said the lights work but no brake lights. Only to find out that there are 2 filaments and the second filament is bad. We shall see what the issue is, as with most issues posted we do not get the whole story.

When my brake light switch went bad in my 06 EX, the tail lights still lite up but they were a lot dimmer than they usually were and sometimes they'd work fine then sometimes they'd be very dim. The middle light also worked like normal. I would not dismiss the brake switch as not being the culprit but just a suggestion.

Switched out the brake light switch and they worked perfectly again.
